Choosing optional public-profile publication

A member-visible profile and a profile published on the open web are different choices. On this application, ordinary member visibility does not grant search-publication permission. Where the optional public-profile feature is available, publication starts disabled and requires a separate, explicit choice.

Understand the wider audience

A public page can be read by anonymous visitors and search engines, not only by members you expect to meet. Someone using another session may also read it. A member block cannot reliably identify and exclude a person visiting anonymously.

Before enabling publication, consider whether you want the selected material available to that audience. You may continue using ordinary member features without choosing open-web publication. Registration consent and a member-visible profile do not replace this separate decision.

Check the selected information

The public projection includes your display name and bio, with separate choices for country, city and one photo. Review the preview before agreeing. Do not put details in your bio that you would not want repeated publicly just because they are not separate profile fields.

The publication does not include private messages, visits, likes, age, birthdate, preferences, identity fields, exact coordinates or online state. A selected city is not an exact location. Nevertheless, the name, text or photograph you choose may identify you; a restricted field list is not a promise of anonymity.

Remember that selected values can change

Once you approve publication, changes to the selected values update the public projection without another consent prompt. For example, editing your bio changes the bio that appears publicly. Review new wording with that audience in mind.

Adding optional fields or selecting a different photograph requires an explicit choice. A deleted, rejected or private selected photo is not automatically replaced by a primary photo. Do not assume that an image appearing elsewhere in your account has also been chosen for the public page.

Know what withdrawal can and cannot do

Withdrawing publication stops access controlled by this application after the change is committed. It cannot immediately remove copies already held by search engines or other people. Anyone who could read public material may have copied it.

Hiding your profile, using incognito, deactivating or deleting the account withdraws publication. Restoring member visibility does not silently publish the profile again. Other eligibility restrictions may also make a public page unavailable. If you later want publication, review the current choices rather than assuming that a previous agreement still makes everything public.
